Peaches Says...
Finding the Right Home…
Ever notice when you go into a pet store that it is “all about dogs”? Not that I have anything against my other four legged brethren, after all, I have two doggie boyfriends myself, but we little kitties always get a bum rap. I mean it is not like we do not have personalities and we are not loyal to our family members. Look at me. I am such a cheeky little one and I adore my new home. Finding the right home is all about chemistry. But having an environment that resembles Petco would be helpful too. |
Pairing kitties with their new mommies or daddies is as important as going onto Match.com looking for the right partner. Both the two legged and four legged need to be sure that they bond. After all, this is a life time commitment for both of us. Kitten Little Rescue has been the purrfect partner matching organization for a lot of us less fortunate little ones. If it were not for Tammy, we would never have had the chance to be in such good foster homes like Mommies Karin, Angie, D'Arcy, Jan, Charlotte, and Maureen.
Recent adoptions have included: Tiger and Beau, Josh and Darwin, Mimi, Roxy, Sassy Boy and Ella, Nikky Polkadot and Plexica. It warms all of our hearts to know that these kittens have gone to loving households. It is especially heartwarming in the case of Tiger and Beau. For those of you who follow my “Peaches Says”, you will remember I wrote about three bottle fed kittens. Tiger and Beau were nurtured into fit as a fiddle bouncing boys by Mommie Angie. Now they have a new home where they will be absolutely loved and cared for. We are all jealous because we hear that they will be off to their cottage home in the Hamptons during the summer. And why not? After their rough start in life, they totally deserve it.
We are delighted that Mimi, a slightly older gal has found a home with a new daddy who took her sight unseen. When we saw him at the pet shop he was so excited about her coming into his house. Mimi’s son and daughter, Emilo and Ashley, were adopted together and now going into a wonderful home.
We adoptables come in all shapes, sizes, colors and ages. Just like those who want to adopt. Although kittens are the preference, there are others who need an equal amount of love and care. From baby to adult, to special needs and special care, my brothers and sisters are still primping, posing and sometimes simply sleeping while being oohed and ahhed during winter weekend showings.
Kitten Little Rescue approaches each adoption as if it is the most important decision you will ever have to make. And it is. You see, we rely very heavily on our human counterparts. We can’t go food shopping or toy shopping or get our grooming supplies without you. We can’t open the cans, rip off the toy wrapping paper, or scoop our potties without you. For all that you do for us, we’ll do in return. We’ll give you our unconditional love, gratitude and will entertain you for hours. When you’re sick and feeling blue, we’ll know it and will stay with you until you are well. We’re terrific with occupational therapy remedies as we’ll purr for hours, lay down beside you and mediate, and even endlessly stare at you. We like to play the “let’s see who blinks first”, game. We believe that each human has a special need to fulfill and we’ll be sure to fulfill them.
So even though living in a Petco store could be so cool, what we would really like best is to be with a family who understands that we are as vulnerable as human babies and although we are adorable, cuddly and playful, we still need to be within a safe and secure environment.
If you are interested in adopting, the best way to meet your new little best friend(s) is to visit us. Check out the rest of the Kitten Little Rescue site and if one of us, or more, captures your attention and pulls at your heart strings, contact us.
With wet whiskers kisses to all,
